"I've never filled these out but just wanted to give the guys in service credit where it's due who were there last thursday 7/14.(forgot all their names) First off I was on a day ride to Lake George from MA and my clutch cable snapped, so they sent out a trailer at a reasonable price. They set me up with a new cable and took the time to explain my tight clutch and what I can do to fix it. The main part is that this all happened at the end of their workday, ended up being past hours too. and everyone acted like it was THEIR bike down and out. I found McDermott's by mistake but next time I'll be looking to go here for these guys to Dyno my bike before the end of the season. "

"My Road King broke down the second day of Americade. The bike is still under warranty but I was three and a half hours from where it was purchased. I limped it in to McDermott's in Fort Ann. Based on previous experiences with other dealerships, I was expecting a less than friendly greeting. I couldn't have been more wrong. From the minute I rode into the lot, the service personnel were fantastic. I was treated like I had been a customer for fifty years. Butch diagnosed the problem very quickly. Unfortunately, the part was not in stock and was back ordered. Alise jumped on the phone and called every dealership in a two hour radius. When no one had the part, she contacted the motor company and put the pressure on them until they agreed to overnight the part. While I was waiting my bike to be repaired, I saw a steady parade of dejected looking Americaders come in with the typical vacation ruining service issues (tires, starters, clutches, cables, etc.). Alise, Butch and the rest of the service personnel worked like a well oiled machine to diagnose and repair each problem. The most impressive part was that in spite of being swamped, they took the time to treat everyone like a life long customer. This is the way that all Harley Dealerships should be run. "

"Upon arriving at our motel my HD motorcycle would not start, I called your dealership up and was told to drop it off and it would be repaired. Thinking it might be my starter and that I would have a big bill for replacing it , your service department found only that I had a loose wire on the starter and repaired it at very little cost to me. "I bought my latest H-D Ultra Classic, it was a one owner bike. I took it to Mcdermott's to discuss an easy clutch, having it ordered and installed. Tim, Doug, Butch and the younger fellow were all of help, the younger lad talked me into the easy clutch, Tim was very helpful in helping me find a problem with my Intercom hookup, to the point where he actually came out and took the seat apart and checked the hookup. Butch was able to locate the problem, plus the crew did my easy clutch. Doug help me lookup the parts needed and helped me order it. I got the bike back and the easy clutch is the greatest thing if you suffer from severe pain in the hand and wrist, or old age!!! This was a great investment, and McDermotts have a new customer. Thanks to all the McDermott crew!!!"

" A couple of weeks ago we were on a trip to Lake George and a friend's passing light on his Heritage went out. We stopped at McDermotts about 10 or so minutes before you opened for service. Brandon saw us outside and asked how he could help. We told him what the problem was and he left for a minute and then returned with a light from a wrecked bike. He even let us borrow a screw driver to change it. The light worked fine and he didn't charge us for the used part. We were very grateful for him going above and beyond the call of duty and helping us out far from home. This simple task left us very impressed and later that day we returned and spent more money than that light would've cost. Absolutely the type of service that keeps customers happy and have them returning time and time again. "I just purchased a new 2010 Harley Deluxe (Scarlet Red & Black) I love the machine it is the ultimate ride. The thing is I fell in love with that machine over 2 yrs ago when I saw one at a NH dealership just after it was aquired by new owners and I was insulted into buying a Victory instead. A few couple of weeks ago we stoped by McDermott's to look around as we did frequently when ever in the area and there sat a beautiful Deluxe, I asked Doug if it was ok to set on it and he thanked me for asking and then the ride began. "Back in "96", when buying a Harley meant waiting lines and buying bikes, colors and models, sight unseen. I stumbled into a small dealership on the advice of a friend and I will never forget the warm welcome I received from Tom and his family. There wasnt a bike in the shop that didnt have a "Sold "sign on it. Well, discouraged as I was, Tom showed me a used Sportster, 1988 I think, and he convinced me he knew the bike and it was a solid one. Not wanting to wait months for an available bike I sat down and started filling out the paperwork, I think the womans name was Laura that was assisting me. These people were so nice!!!!! Anyway, as i was finishing up my contract on the 88, the phone next to her rang, and within three minutes she called tom over and i heard her tell him that the 1996 Patriot Red Sportster on the showroom floor had just been canceled. Tom told her to offer it to me if I was serious about buying a bike. Too many times I guess, someone with 500 down and a dream would reserve a bike, but then when it arrived they wouldnt be able to get financing...So instead of going to his list he offered me the bike.... That was the start of my long held respect and admiration for this fine group of people. I traded that bike in a few years later on a 99 FXDL and they had moved to their new locatiuon by then. The whole process was unbelievable.. great price, great service and they always treated me like family up there. Well worth the ride from 20 minutes south of Albany. Anyway, i learned to love riding so much I started to yearn for longer summers, so my family and i moved to Hawaii.... I sold the 99 to afford the move and I have bought two bikes since over here. Both transactions were strained and service was poor.... I have missed the folks at Mcdermotts a thousand times since 2000, often wondering how Tom was and the rest of the family. Well, a couple days ago I was in a Waipahu, Hawaii HD shop and spotted a little cabin on the back of a T shirt with the name Mcdermotts on a soldier that was stationed over here. he too was buying a new bike and was lamenting he wished he was back in New York with you guys. Anyway, I hope this long boring story finds you all well, and i just wanted to pass on that your dealership is legendary. There is nothing even close in Hawaii....For those of you thinking of buying a new or used bike... no distance is too far to travel to experience this dealership.....Make the trip, you'll be glad you did....."

"I feel as though I must comment on the outstanding job the service department did on my 2001 FXDL. I had been having problems starting the bike recently and we surmised the problem was a new battery. We put the new battery in ourselves and I drove it from Salem, NH to Americade 2009. Our last stop of the day, before the hotel, was at McDermott's Harley Davidson. When we went to leave, my bike wouldn't start and I was the last bike of the day taken in for service. Not only did the service department keep me updated on what was going on, it turned out that my regulator had gone and taken the new battery with it. Since I had used an HD battery, they were great about warrantying it. They charged me a very fair price for the work and I have to say the customer service representative was outstanding in every way. You are, by far, the NICEST HD personnell I have ever dealt with, hands down! My ride was fixed and I was on my way - never mind that the technicians had been there from 7:00 that morning - they stayed until 8:30 pm to make sure I had my bike for Americade. Although you're too far away to bring my bike in for service on a regular basis, whenever I'm in that area you can be sure you have a customer for life! Amazing people!!!"

"Tom invited me to come to his shop on route 4 in Fort Ann. I ordered my 2001 FXD and picked it up in March of 2001. Although just after I puchased it I developed some serious health issues and was unable to ride for about 3 years. All is well now and I'm slowly putting the miles on..... "My 96 Ultra Classic was brought in on Thursday of Americade week on a flatbed. My workorder was written up immediately by Mr. McDermott himself. He then directed me to Mike in service. I had a gremlin in my electrical system. Mike made me feel like I was the only person in service. I was given fast service by Shane and kept informed by Butch. My bike was diagnosed with a bad ECM. Staying was not an option for me so they gave it a good bandage and let me leave. You folks are the best. I will always stop in to say hello when in town. Mr. M....I will say hello to Gene Baron for you!!!!!"

"I was shopping for a new motorcycle this year and went to several Harley dealerships. I asked the price of the bike I wanted (FLHTCI) at one dealership and they said $19,900.00. I thought that this was very high. They also told me that if I got a quote from another dealer that they would match it. Maybe its just me but if I am going around shopping for a motorcycle I am going to buy the bike from the dealership that has the price set right to begin with. That dealer is McDermott's. They had a very good price on my bike ($1,300.00 less). It seems to me that the dealership with the high quote was trying to inflate their prices as much as possible. If it took another dealer (McDermott's)treating me fairly to get them to match the price why would I go back to them. My experience at McDermott's was a very pleasurable experience. I found the Harley dealership that I'll be dealing with from now on. It does pay to shop around and it's worth the trip."
